not much going on

It's not very often that we have weekends with no big plans.....and what a treat they are. This weekend has been one of those. My brother and my nephew, Jack, were over Friday night. Nicholas has so been wanting to hang with his cousin and I know Jack with his new red light saber has been itching to get over for a visit to share this new wondrous toy.

Saturday, we were looking forward to the Fall Festival here in town.....so we strolled into town yesterday afternoon after the rain let up and I did know that Newcastle generally is a ghost town after five....but it was only 2ish and well, I guess everyone is made of sugar or something because it was slim pickings for things to see or do. We could not even get a hotdog for the kids. So, we strolled around and Nicholas went down the giant slide a couple of times and well, that was about it.

We do have a goal today - and that is to put together Shanes new big boy bed and get his room all moved around, cleaned up, new pics up, Organized! I ordered new bedding and it came on Friday (they just left it right out on the front porch)...I'm super excited to get it all set up....I love it! I was hoping to find colours in the bedding to match his walls and save us another painting day....will post a pic once it is complete! It will be interesting to see how Shane reacts to this next big step.

So, I have to share this because every Mommy knows this would melt their heart. Nicholas' daycare lady, Lindsay, was asking the kids what their favourite thing to do was. When it was Nicholas' turn, he said giving my Mommy hugs. Awwww....my sweet boy. And hey, I rate over Star Wars!!!

One more cute story....this morning, Shane was sitting in his chair eating breakfast and he wanted Daddy's attention. He said Daddy a couple of times and then it was Daddy-O! Sydney has been saying this for years and then Nicholas followed....and now Shaney. It was so unexpected, I just had to laugh.

One more coffee and then it's time to get busy....Happy Sunday!
