Every day I think how I need to sit and write something. And now, geesh, almost a month later, I am here. I will say one of my resolutions this year is to be more consistent with writing. Wait, didn't I say that last year?? Hm. Well, I can only try.
So, here we are - Christmas time!!!! Like everyone else, it's been busy around here. But I must say, I don't feel any of the usual stresses this year. Do I have alot to do yet? Absolutely....but it will all come together. I'm just truly enjoying this time with my family and friends.
Nicholas had his Christmas concert a little while ago....it was really cute. We had been practicing with him and he knew his songs well along with the moves. Of course, once they are up on the stage, the moves and the words don't seem to come as easily but it really was so enjoyable to watch the little 4 and 5 year olds perform. Nicholas' class did The Gingerbread Man and Rudolph ... and at the end of the concert, all classes sang Frosty the Snowman. Adorable!
Also, something I meant to write about earlier was our parent-teacher interview with Mrs. Cole-Campbell. This year, they started a new format. Instead of the usual, parents sitting down with the teacher meeting....they had six activity tables set up. We arrived at our chosen time and Nicholas took us around to each activity and went through it all with explanation as well. We were given a booklet with what to watch for and make our comments. Johnathon and I really enjoyed it...was a great opportunity to see what exactly they are learning and Nicholas did very well. He struggles a little with writing sentences or sounding out some words....and by that, I means he gets frustrated but we are working on it. Afterwards, we then sat with the teacher. Mrs. Cole-Campbell is perfectly suited to being a SK teacher...she is truly wonderful and has such a great way with Nicholas. And then when Nicholas wasn't looking...she whispered to me that Nicholas is Very Bright with a big smile. And, of course, this gave me a big smile!
This is all going to be a mixed bag of updates really....
Last weekend was our annual Christmas get together...was alot of fun and so good to see everyone! I've included a pic of Debra and Madeleine, above, who we haven't seen in way too long.
Shane is now on my lap....this small post has taken me about two hours to write...between entertaining Shane and nursing my sick Nicholas. Yep, left work a little early Friday to pick up the boys - Nicholas had thrown up 4 times in about an hour. So, he has been resting all weekend and he seems to be doing alot better today. Fingers crossed for a healthy Christmas!!!
