I didn't even look at my last post, all but the date so I think when I last wrote, I was getting over my sickie days and feeling horribly. Shane and I have not been able to kick our bugs, however his is mostly the forever running nose and a cough. I feel decent for a couple days and then some looming wannabe new headcold takes over, such as right now. Getting used to it, trying hard not to complain....but really, COME ON! Enough already! (I so don't like that phrase but there it is anyway).
Once we were feeling better enough to do something fun as a family, we headed to the Toronto Zoo. I LOVE the zoo so was very excited to get the boys there and check out all the animals, especially with Shane starting (trying) to say some of the animals names. He just seemed to love it....was completely mesmerized by all of them. Nicholas had fun too but after a few hours, was really done and tired. Can't say I blame him, I think we all felt that way except Shaney who had the luxury of being pushed around when he didn't want to walk. All in all, a great day and this time of year is just perfect for the zoo....no crowds, free parking and all the animals out and about. Now that I am writing this, I think I did write about our trip last post...but just in case, repeat.
The week following that was absolutely full of Nicholas counting down the final moments until Syds arrival. This is a boy who just loves his big sister so completely. We were all able to meet him at school the day Syd flew up to surprise him....and he was thrilled of course! It was a short visit, for the US Thanksgiving holiday. I had full intentions of making a holiday dinner but there really was just not enough time. So off to good old Teddys for turkey dinner and then Syd and I did some power shopping aftewards. We would have loved to shop longer but we needed to get back to pick Nicholas up at Beavers...again, he was thrilled to be picked up by Sydney. And Mommy was happy that Nicholas actually came out and said he had a super time. He hasn't been taking to Beavers very well but he seems to be coming around.....I think it's because they talked about badges...Finally.
Johnathon was able to take the time off while Sydney was here....Friday, Syd and Daddy had a date at the movies and a late lunch....then afterwards, they picked up Nicholas once again at school and they went to the ice cream shop...yum!
We didn't do a whole lot more other than just enjoy our time together. I did make arrangements to have family photos done on Saturday....something the kids (and hubby) always thoroughly enjoy.....lol! It went better than expected and I have seen a few shots but once we get the proofs, I will absolutely post some. At the end of the session, the photographer asked to take a few more of Shane because he was just so "gosh darn cute"....and Nicholas was like why is she saying that about Shane. He then proceeded to say "I am the cute one"! It was hilarious the way it was said.
This morning was a difficult one saying our good-byes. Nicholas especially was so sad. He bawled and bawled saying good bye. Of course, this just increased my tears so we had a good snuggle and thankfully, Jack was here so he had a distraction. And now, the house, like it does every time Syd leaves, feels like we are missing something....and we sure are - we are missing our Sydney.
A friend of mine shared her blog with me one day and I thought this really is a great idea! With most of our family and alot of our friends living all over, this is an ideal forum to share with you my thoughts and happenings with our family (my hubby, J-man and our three amazing children. Beautiful Sydney, who is now 16 and our two adorable rugrats, Nicholas-7 and Shane-3. And of course our Chrissy girl (golden retriever) and our menacing but lovable cats, Oreo and Pawsley.

i'm back baby!
As alot of you already know, we have been dealing with sickness over here. And let me first say that we are all well....ALL of us ALL at once!
Shane's fevers and head cold are over with - phew!!!!.....which is what I had originally thought I picked up and was ignorant to it....let it go....only to end up with a viral infection in my chest and some wicked headaches and pain in my sinuses and eyes. And that is all I want to re-tell. It is done, over with...and this makes one Mommy very happy.
In other ways, this week has been a difficult one. Our dear friend, Scott, lost his mom to cancer last weekend. I don't have any words that seem fitting enough but Scott, you and your family are surrounded by people that love you and as you know, Johnathon and I are always here for you....for any reason. Rest in peace Sandra.

Hallo-weenie...
(okay...so I meant to post this last night but didn't get a chance to add pics so this is a day late..)
Another week gone by.....whoosh....actually, another month gone by.....just like that! Which only brings us closer to one of the best times of year, Christmas! Now that Halloween has come and gone (yay!), almost time to get out the decorations and get the season started!! Yay!!
Not a big fan of Halloween....I mean now that I am a mother, I do enjoy the little ones dressed up in their costumes and the excitement they exude BUT to be honest, if I didn't have them, wouldn't care much one way or the other. Yep, I guess I'm a Halloween Scrooge....hm, wonder what the proper term is. Halloweenie perhaps!! Hehe...Hallo-weenie....that is me.
This past weekend was wonderful...I just LOVED having almost my whole family with us from Friday to Sunday....with Mom and Dad still with us until tomorrow. Friday night we took the family out for Mom's 60th birthday. The six of us (Mom, Dad, Shawn, Cheryl, J and I) went to The Keg for a really great dinner and some drinks. Vicki was gracious enough to come to the house and watch our four rugrats so that we could go out and enjoy a nice adult dinner. Afterwards, back to the house where some good friends and family helped us celebrate the occasion. It really turned out to be a great night....for my great Mom!
Saturday, of course, was Halloween. Johnathon, Cheryl and I start getting the kids' costumes on only to find that the costume I picked up for Shane was not going to fit. So, we took off the heavy sweater underneath...and nope! Not going to happen unless we let him walk around all wedgy-lion like!! Thank goodness for Cheryl offering to switch up the little ones' costumes so in the end, all worked out well. Phew! And didn't they look great!! It was the first time that all four boys went out together. It was fun...I hope we can do the same next year.
Unfortunately, not too long after we finished up trick or treating, Shane came down with a bit of a fever....and it's been off and on now ever since. Poor little munchkin. I know he is doing alright though...the medicine is certainly working. Even though you can see it in his eyes, he is still running around the house, still giving us lots of big smiles and giggles....he didn't even nap yesterday after we tried for over an hour (Very unusual). Thankfully, the boys were able to stay home today with Goki. I even let Nicholas play hooky so that he could spend a day with Popa and Goki before they leave tomorrow. Don't think I have to tell you that he was more than thrilled!
Minus Shanes' cold and fever, it was a great weekend. Oh...and just to add....three games of Phase 10 and guess who won them all????!!! That's right my friends....that's right!
